Gordon Ramsay Is Alive & Well But His Chef Passed Away At Notting Hill Carnival

The horrifying beating claimed the life of Gordon Ramsay's chef.

Mussie Imnetu, 41, received culinary training from Gordon Ramsay during his career. But on August 26, he went to the Notting Hill Carnival, where he was severely beaten and ultimately perished.

Key Takeaways

  • He was employed by “Gordon Ramsey at The London” in New York as a Junior Sous Chef.
  • Omar Wilson was initially charged with causing grievous bodily injury after being detained in relation to the event.

Throughout the past year, Gordon Ramsay has faced numerous difficulties. One of his restaurants was invaded by squatters.

Similarly, he sustained major injuries in a cycling accident back in June.

He describes the accident as being like hell and considers himself fortunate to have survived.

All of that, though, is insignificant compared to a recent event in which one of his chefs was fatally beaten.

According to the authorities, Imnetu was on a visit to London from Dubai, where he was employed.

On August 26, Mussie Imnetu, 41, was discovered unresponsive and with what seemed to be a head injury close to the Notting Hill Carnival carnival.

The senior chef was attacked at Notting Hill Carnival and was fatally beaten by a charity worker, according to court reports.

As stated by the Metropolitan Police four days later, Imnetu passed away, and the authorities have since labelled the event as a mu*der.

Prosecutors claim that Imnetu was struck in the head before the suspect struck him multiple times, including after he collapsed to the ground.

What was happening before to the alleged incident is not readily apparent.

A number of witnesses who may have more information on Imnetu’s activities before his death are being sought by the police.

According to Met Police, a 31-year-old man named Omar Wilson was initially charged with causing grievous bodily injury after being detained in relation to the event.

Wilson showed up in court on Monday, September 10, and according to the prosecution, he was then charged with mu*der.

Wilson has not yet entered a plea, according to the news source.

Mussie Imnetu was a native of Eritrea and grew up in Sweden.

His contemporaries described him as an extremely dedicated chef who genuinely liked what he did.

Imnetu was the head chef at The Brasserie, a restaurant at The Arts Club Dubai, a members-only club.

Previous to this, he worked as a Junior Sous Chef for one year beginning in 2006 at “Gordon Ramsey at The London” in New York.

His responsibilities included quality control, orders, and training for the fish station.

Also, he was a member of “The London” in New York City’s inaugural squad.

People have posted their condolences and wishes for his spirit to rest in peace on his Instagram posts in the wake of his horrifying demise.

  • Since its founding in 1997, Gordon Ramsay Restaurants has received 17 Michelin stars in total, of which it now possesses eight.
  • A 32-year-old mother named Cher Maximen also passed away at the Notting Hill Carnival.
