Jack Stine’s Sudden Disappearance Sparks Buzz About His Firing

Missing on the show

Jack Stine, the former co-host of the popular The Jack and Spike Show on KIRO-FM, is no longer part of the program.

Key Takeaways

  • The absence of Jack Stine from The Jack and Spike Show has sparked curiosity among the listeners to know the actual reason for it.
  • There are various assumptions and theories by his fans and spectators on social media regarding his departure or possible termination.
  • However, no official announcements have been disclosed yet.

He has been replaced by Jake Skorheim, who now co-hosts alongside Spike O’Neil, with the show rebranded as The Jake and Spike Show.

Consequently, Stine’s sudden absence has left many listeners curious and confused, wondering what led to his departure.

One of his fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to ask about Jack’s whereabouts, also tagging KIRO News Radio in the post.

A reply to that post by Michael Montgomery stated,

“Here’s the official response from @973KIRORadio: Jack is no longer with KIRO, which was a really hard decision. He’s heading back to California this week to spend some time with family! We’re super excited about having Jake Skorheim on board with us and what this new show can be.”

However, the tagged X account in his reply has been inactive since June 2012, and no related announcements or updates have been found there.

Curiosity and concern over Jack’s absence have also spread to Reddit, where many fans are inquiring about him.

One user, EverAfterMusic, speculated that KIRO may have fired Jack due to a controversial discussion he had on the show, particularly regarding the political situation between Israel and Lebanon.

“A couple of weeks ago, Stine dared to bring up the Israel aggressions going on now, particularly in Lebanon, and I knew that would be the end of him. Spike O’Neil is way too ignorant of history to even discuss it with any intelligence, so KIRO naturally kept him on the air.”

Some believe that Jack’s outspoken opinions on former President Donald Trump negatively impacted the show’s ratings, leading to his eventual dismissal.

“I’m surprised he survived as long as he did. He’s too intelligent of a conservative for Dori’s army of troglodytes. They never liked him because he calls out Trump and MAGA and it k*lled KIRO’s mid-day ratings.”

However, there has been no official statement regarding the exact reason for Jack’s absence or his potential termination from the show.

In the meantime, the audience has expressed divided reactions.

While some viewers are happy to see him leave, others express disappointment and nostalgia, missing the unique flair and personality he brought to the program.

In Case You Didn’t Know

  • Jack is involved in charity work, supporting both the deaf and hard-of-hearing community as well as children with autism.
  • Jack started hosting KIRO Nights on 8 March 2021.
  • He is usually criticized for his narcissistic and know-it-all approach.
  1. Very good host, smart, and opinionated – much like Dorey.

I did not like how he treated Spike. And poor spike had to cower down to stay on with him.

Jake is good, but the two of them may not be great!

This feels like the same story with radio – no money left for talent.

    • For Jack , it’s not what you say always , but how you say it !
I like a lil controversy and love the truth , but it was jus to much in your face.
The attitude of I know everything I’ve done everything got real old real quick
Good luck with your new adventures you will find your space ! 😃

    • “A very good host”?!! “Smart and opinionated much like Dory”??!!!
Not on your life was Jack anything like Dory!!! Dory was a Conservative like Rush and is missed as much! His following was largely conservative Republicans, to put Jack Stein in Dory’s time spot was a very bad decision which I am sure cost the Station to lose sponsors and listeners a like. The way he talked trash about Trump and anyone who considers themselves a Conservative was very offensive. For this reason plus how awful he treated Spike was so hard to take that I stopped listening! I will not miss him in the least bit! I will likely now listen again to this time spot.

  2. Upsetting to see Jack off the air of KIRO always enjoyed his honest opinions and calling out the truth. He’ll be better off working for himself than KIRO treated him for this. Best of Luck Jack! I’ll be looking out for your new programming.

  3. He was well informed , well researched and spoke to all topics, local and national! He’s the only reason I listened. I hope he lands on another station or pod cast,

  4. This sucks! I’ll miss Jack. He was my favorite. Nothing against Jake, but I’m done with KIRO for a while. They could at least give an honest explanation.

  5. Jack was smart & I liked him so much more on the late night show. Although Spike is closed minded, a hypocrite & I don’t agree with almost anything he says, I didn’t like how Jack treated him. I felt sorry for him being used as a punching bag for Jack in public. It was uncomfortable. I wish Jack well. I really do. He’s a good guy but needs to learn a little bit of host etiquette.

  6. Stine was abrasive, opinionate, etc…but he backed up his attitude with facts…and I think many listeners do not really care to learn much about anything they might disagree with!…I suspect Jack Stine will move back to California, and find work there once again. Our loss, his gain!

  7. Bring Jack Back !!
He was the reason Kiro was so fun, informative to listen to. Plus he was so smart !
    I loved all his opinions.

  8. I didn’t like his condescending attitude towards Spike. He was knowledgeable but very opinionated. Rubbed me the wrong way. Hope he ends up somewhere on his feet. Welcome Jake!

  9. He made people think. He could be brash and opinionated, but he was well read and interesting. He put thought into the show.i like Jake and Spike, but they don’t challenge people to think . I hope Jack lands a good job. Definetly miss him.

  10. I thought I had dementia or experienced the Mandela effect because after a week-long hiatus, it was the Jake & Spike show instead of Jack & Spike, yet their on-air voices and mannerisms seemed similar. Boy, am I relieved!

  11. He will be missed…yes, arrogant, AND, always backed his statements with facts & research. KIRO let Ron & Don go … still miss them. Now…Jack…makes me sad…all three of these hosts dedicated time, talent & $$ to charities. That seems to be ‘the rule,’ KIRO hosts: don’t support charities 🙁

  12. I don’t miss him at all! He was so negative and not at all a conservative. The stupid Billy Sunshine segment was annoying.
    I will start listening again.

  13. This Is the best thing KIRO could’ve ever done, this guy was arrogant, and he was so desperate to push his agenda, that the show was absolutely garbage, and I gave it multiple chances.. but this is GREAT NEWS, thank you KIRO
